In my 5 months flying on IF there have been times I had to manually fly a hold pattern due to being above MLW. It would be helpful to have that functionality for when you have too much fuel due to winds being better (tail) or worse(head) than expected.
How it would work is it would use your next waypoint (if you have them) and Will do a racetrack pattern until deactivated and bring you back on route. IMO this would add another but of realism to the sim.
This is a great idea especially when flying long haul flights. I’ll leave IF running while I sleep. Sometimes I forget or wake up too late. Next thing I know I have speed violations or crash. It’s frustrating after an 8hr flight. IMO there should be a hold pattern as part of the procedure for an airport. There could also be a button that you can press to activate the hold pattern. Many times they’re racetracks a few miles away just before approach.
