Higher the altitude, lower the speed?

When I fly around a 30000 ft cruise height, I see that my overspeed speed is much lower than it was. Is this to do with the type of airspace I’m in?

Your indicated airspeed will reduce as you get higher. Once you’ve passed FL280 you will begin to use Mach Speed. Depending on the aircraft, M.78-.85 is a normal speed. Feel free to check out some of our materials in #tutorials. :)

So when you are higher, are you allowed to go faster?

Your ground speed will increase and such, but ultimately the same aircraft limitations still apply. Remain under the “red tape” and you’ll be good!
