I’m confused so some further clarification would be nice. Are these 100+ kt jet stream winds normal? When I go on real world flights, I don’t think I’ve ever flown in winds that strong. Does a strong jet stream signify a strong weather system like rain and thunderstorms?

This is such an amazing boost in realism. Also, gotta love the glimpse of the new atmospheric rendering.

Yes they are real. And pretty normal too. That’s part of the reason the indicated airspeed is always lower than groundspeed

At high-altitude, high-speed winds are quite normal.

Think about why west to east flights are typically faster than east to west flights.

Looks like flying across the Pacific in a Cessna 172 will be a little faster

Yes and no, have you ever tried getting a C172 up to FL300?
