Heavy lag on new iOS devices

On my flight into Cape Town, today, I noticed that there was VERY heavy lag. Even on final, I could not even control my aircraft due to the problem. I have an iPad 7 and it seems to run every other app smoothly. I also have over half of my storage left. Wifi was strong. Any ideas what’s going on? Is it an IF problem, iOS, or something I can fix?

What were the graphics settings? If my app starts lagging, i’d limit my FPS to 30 and turn off anti aliasing.
