Heavy Fog over Frankfurt EDDF

November 9th 2025

Arriving at Frankfurt EDDF I experienced a heavy fog layer over Frankfurt and area. At landing the runway was only visible seconds before touchdown. Unfortunately the replay does not show the weather conditions so I took screenshots and cut out the portion without UI.
I loved the challenge and even on airport extremely foggy. Only mini map helped to recognize other aircrafts taxiing. Because landing needed full focus, screenshots when runway suddenly appeared was not possible.

How did you even know where you were?

Well, the flight was ILS approach, otherwise impossible. And taxiing to gate, only with minimap and very slowly

Haha, I don’t remember, I could look up the replay, but I was really, really slow. But unfortunately the replay does not contain this weather condition. Too sad.

It’s fine. Just want to know your speed, cause Frankfurt is a PAIN to taxi around. And I can only image your suffering of literally crawling along, trying to see where your going and get to your gate safely.

By the way: This time the Taxiway Centre Line Lights really helped to find my way

In the ATC training server I was just trying to see the planes I cleared in and out but bro the fog was just making my day bad and it kept getting worse until the ATIS actually became red ond started flashing.
