At one point in time, the Nimrod was the most advanced reconnaissance aircraft in the world. It was used to detect sea-born threats from submarines and surface vessels. It carried what at the time was state of the art radar technology. Also, some here on the forum have called it the TS1 plane. ;)
There are a few of those in the U.K. They look pretty cool for such an old aircraft, more so then the C-130

This is a great aircraft. The classic looks of it mixed with the modern (in it’s day and age) technology make it a very unique plane.

Oh wow, this is so cool! I’ve never seen a different version of the Comet, which was one amazing aircraft too.
Definitely a cool old jet. It seems… almost mysterious… It reminds me of a lot of the cold war jets the Soviets were building, like the TU-16/TU-104.
