Have you landed successfully without landing gear?

Today I miraculously landed an A380-800 at KSAN. I forgot to engage the landing gear. :open_mouth:

Now that’s quite something. Yes, I’ve landed without gear in an A380- no special feat, but not done it without knowledge! Clearly you didn’t do your checklists properly! Always check at least flaps, gear, spoilers, trim before landing. Basically look down your control panel and think through everything logically. Ask yourself; should this be set this way? Of course, we all have ā€˜Off days’ when we just forget the gear- but you can actually feel happy with yourself by the end- it wasn’t intended, but a pretty good party trick!

I heard EGPWS(GPWS) coming to I.F so you won’t have the problem next timešŸ˜€. List of warnings from EGPWS.

Excessive descent rate (ā€œSINK RATEā€ ā€œPULL UPā€)
Excessive terrain closure rate (ā€œTERRAINā€ ā€œPULL UPā€)
Altitude loss after take off or with a high power setting (ā€œDON’T SINKā€)
Unsafe terrain clearance (ā€œTOO LOW – TERRAINā€ ā€œTOO LOW – GEARā€ ā€œTOO LOW – FLAPSā€)
Excessive deviation below glideslope (ā€œGLIDESLOPEā€)
Excessively steep bank angle (ā€œBANK ANGLEā€)
Windshear protection (ā€œWINDSHEARā€)

Anyways if you set proper flaps you would see gear warning in HUD now, it says ā€œgear-upā€

Yeah but not super large- I can see how you would overlook it on your screen, it sort of blends in with spoiler status. Anyway, are EGPWS(GPWS) really coming to I.F. ? That sounds super exciting!

I’m not in Dev’s circlešŸ˜€, I’m sure I heard it somewhere. Fingers crossed.šŸ‘

Well well well well well this topic reminded me of the time I landed a F-14 without landing gear upside down. … at 800knts… must admit it took awhile to work out what the hell happened. Btw it was then that I found out that you can’t accelerate without landing gear. Oh and did I mention that it was on water? Such fun.

Yes in a 742, 744, and 748.

I can only land w/o gear on a 747 for some reason not matter how hard I try to land with another a/c.

I’ve done a few belly landings with the A333 before. Some of them were pretty sick.

Sometimes, when I perform touch and goes with the F22, all goes pretty fast (a landing every 3 minutes), so it can happen that I forget to lower the landing gear.
I always land without crashing, but it’s much harder to takeoff!

Seriously. I seem that it’s impossible to land and that taking off is like butter on a military plane.

Sounds like you need more practice ;)

This topic reminded me of once when i ditched a 777-300er of ETIHAD airways near sydney when th3 plane suddenly dropped 17000 ft from 38000 ft because of stalling and autopilot i remember i pulled on and kept dropping untill the sea was spotted from the cockpit view …it took me a whilr but it was nearly crashed …but luckily i saved the plane from cerrail disasterā€¦ā˜ŗā˜ŗ

I did it with VS of 41 000 feet/min. šŸ˜‚ Extremely realistic isn’t it?
