Hello everybody! I want to make this thread so people can say if they have been on inaugural/retirement flights. I did not find a thread like this already, so I will make it first. In your post, you can write about your experience and/or include a photo, but please keep the writing short.
For me, I have only been on SW inaugural flight from Baltimore (BWI) to Grand Rapids (GRR) back in 2013. I plan on being on Delta’s A220-100 inaugural (still sounds weird).
I would love to be on the inaugural BOS-HNL flight, but that for me unfortunately, won’t happen
I heard about that. What aircraft will Hawaiian be using for the flight in the future (A332 for now)?
My guess is probably the B787 or A350, but I believe it was the 787 Hawaiian ordered.
I wish to be on an inaugural flight in the future! Maybe at KSJC! :D
Maybe you could try one of there routes from KSJC: California Pacific to Carlsbad (Nov. 1, 2018 but I doubt that it will actually happen, they have called it off multiple times), Delta to Detroit (Nov. 15, 2018), Southwest to Tuscon (Nov. 4, 2018).
Southwest is adding a Tucson route? I didn’t know that
Ik Delta to Detroit but I didn’t know Southwest to Tucson
Yah I just looked at wiki, but that route is not that exciting.
I have gone on a lot…
Southwest 737MAX8 first flight KDAL-KHOU
Southwest 737 inaugural routes KBWI-KPBI, KSAN, MMUN, KLAX
Southwest 737-800 first flight KBWI-?
Virgin America A319 KBWI-KSFO
I was on the inaugural Airbus A321neo service, which Virgin America was the launch customer of the type. It was certainly a wonderful experience to be a part of, especially since it was my favorite airline that introduced this revolutionary new aircraft!
It’s the A330-200 actually. I too would love to take that flight. Longest nonstop domestic flight in the US. It’s a crazy 10 hours long.
I was talking about future, I know it’s the A332 for now
The 787 is coming in the 2020s
Unfortunately I have not although a future goal of mine
Does the BOS-HNL flight top the JFK-HNL one as the longest domestic flight? I took the Hawaiian JFK-HNL-JFK flight last July when I went to Hawaii so I was curious
Yea by about 20 minutes because BOS is a little farther than JFK
It will be the second longest in the world, I believe. The longest right now is from Paris (LFPG)-Reunion (FMEE) operated by XL Airways France and Air Austral (FMEE-LFPO can also be as long, that is operated by Air France, Corsair, and French Bee).
I’m going on a sun country inaugural flight from New Orleans to Nashville
