Have any of you been in a simulator and done a flight?

If you have,
What plane is it?
What airline was it?
Where was it?

In a few months I’m going to Heathrow to fly in one of the full motion simulators with BA. It is the one that actual BA pilots train in! Going with an adult friend. It will either be a 747 or an A320.

Yep. Flight from CDG-Heathrow. And again from Venice-Zürich. Both in a 737. Look in Phoenix Mall in Mumbai Flgiht4Fantasy for more details.

In adalaide there is a 737 Boeing sim. It has Boeing merch and stuff, another is in Sydney I believe…I think I may be thinking of Hong Kong.

I went there 6 months ago, but I didn’t get to go in the sims.

Yes, been on both an A320 and 757 full motion Level D sim.
Both were CAE sims, one at Gatwick and one at Burgess Hill in the UK. Both were a lot of fun!

The Airbus was a joy to fly, very easy and the side stick feels really natural to use.

The 757 was a very slippery plane to fly, and needed a bit more concentration to handle - but (eventually) getting a good landing was rewarding.

The thing that struck me with the big sims is the optics - it’s amazing how well they create the sense of depth, height and distance compared to the lesser fixed base trainers.

If you ever get a chance, give it a go. You can also book a group with 15 minutes per person to get the price down as the full motion sims are quite expensive.

I have tried the Emirates Experience in London, it’s not a proper sim but good enough I guess to get a feel of flying. It was the B777-300 and the A380

Once I tried flying in a Cessna 172, where I did some patterns. I’m not very good at flying light aircraft since I always make big adjustments, so the plane kept shaking and I had to abort landing like 3 times. Finally I landed but I skidded off the runway :/
