I found the RAT on both Airbus and Boeing and did try to simulate engine falure by running out of feul but no luck on the RAT deploying. Anyone have a different experience?
Is the RAT even animated? I haven’t seen any official posts about a working one in IF.
It isn’t, no.
I do hope they add RAT animations for situations like running out of fuel, this would be very cool.
That would be a lot of work for the developers for only very few cases. For 99.999% of all flights not needed.
Begs the question then as to why spend the time modelling it in the first place.
True. Maybe for people who like to explore the interior of the aircraft. There are many beautiful decorative parts inside with no real use. Or to keep it as a possible future add on.
But I see no practical value, besides forcing it to deploy and having a look at it from the ouside. And unless the main battery are drained, we still have full control and I see no battery charge indicator.
And we all know that this would get abused (if it’s deployable) and we will have a lot of
around the airport.
All you hear is BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
As planes fly above with only the RAT running.
Errr… with only the RAT running, it ain’t go far ![]()
You know people are gonna try their hardest to find and abuse a feature. So it won’t be surprising to see people find a way to use the RAT for flight
Yea spot on mate, any simmers would have their where’s my fuel moments even after years of playing, my recent one was due to a mishap with simbrief, though its rare but cool to have… dunno, but switching to APU on empty tanks seems too unrealistic for me (so does landing in the ocean to refuel actually, but that can stay!
)
I dont think it is yet tho they should btw like ur pfp
It only gives electric power, it won’t let you fly.
What aircraft that?
A388 dont have RAT turbine model tho
that is the 777 200 and a321
Trust me, gamers will try EVERYTHING to abuse a feature. I know cause I’m one of them. I love to abuse glitches and unintentional features to my own advantages.
