Many times I flew on Pan Am, ValueJet and AirTran. Those very great airlines with free music, snacks, and great service have long been history. Southwest has bought AirTran a few years back and made me think about, has anyone in the IFC flown on a defunct airline? Please let me know below!

I flew on Virgin America. Has their merge completed and they are gone yet? Otherwise no.
Alaska will remove the Virgin America name early January… another fun airline down in history books.
I’ve flown AirTran 4 times, I don’t know if this counts but ive flown on a defunct livery too, the old chrome (polished aluminum) AA livery 737-800.

I remeber flying on the pre-merger Delta aircraft, which used to belong to Northwest.
Monarch Airlines is now Defunct so in that case… Yes :)
I flew on Mandala Airlines 4 times with their B737s when they were a Full Service Carrier. Sad to see they are gone even though they have been injected by Tigerair Singapore
Similar to @SkyHighGuys, I flew on US Airways in the midst of their merger with American Airlines (just 3 months shy). Not sure if that counts but ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I flew on LTU in 2003. It got double defunct as Air Berlin bought them, then Air Berlin as we know it also ceased operations.
I flew on Northwest a lot (used to be a gold flier), I think I’ve been on Continental a few times.
