Hartsfield Atlanta no longer worlds busiest airport

It makes sense with all the eternal security lines…

Yay Chicago! Atlanta better luck next time.

Surprised and not surprised really…

Chicago and Atlanta are both hubs for major airlines and handle thousands of flights daily. In all honesty, I’m happy Chicago has their moment in the spotlight.

But Atlanta is one of my home airports…😜

This is just plane movement. Atlanta still moves 23 millionn more people that ohare so technically its wrong.

I wouldn’t say it’s wrong, KATL just is busier in a different category of passenger movement. O’Hare is busier in number of flights so in all reality, they are number 1 and number 2 and have been for a while

As a Chicagoan, I am very proud to see this, and I think the multi-billion dollar modernization project of ORD will just compliment the title even more!

Any chance you can enlighten me on why Chicago is so busy beacuse Ive always wondered. Why is it such a tourist destination?

Well, it’s a great connection to the Midwest, so it’s a huge hub for regional jets, which is part of the reason why we have so many airplane movements. Chicago has a lot of history behind it, and museums like the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, and many more things is part of the reason.

Ok. Atlanta is the busiest in terms of people. In terms of planes Chicago is the busiest

With ATL as my home airport, this disappoints me. Whenever I am spotting theee is always planes taking off and landing. Fact: Someone who works there told me a plane takes off or lands every thirteen seconds in Atlanta. I hope this will change soon

Crazy! Now all those T.V. shows and books are inaccurate.

This hits the nail on the head. It depends how you define “busiest”. Both are the busiest in their own way.

Hmmm🤔🤔 i still want dont see why its so busy because they do also have a lot of international traffic so I just dont see why chicago is huge and very attractive to many airlines.

Though I personally prefer flying out of MDW rather ORD, as Chicago is my home too, gotta say still pretty cool to say it’s the busiest.

FAKE NEWS!

kidding - wish it was though

💔💔💔

ORD is far superior

lounges
network
fares

Yes.

And, big things are on the way. T2, currently DL, UA express, and Aircanada will become the new international terminal, making for easier connections. Oneworld and Star alliance airlines will relocate here while United Express will move to a new concourse parallel to concourse C and an extension to concourse c. The old international terminal will be reconfigured for domestic use (DL is rumored to have a huge sky club) and international use for Skyteam airlines and oddballs.

A priority pass lounge would be nice.

There are a couple in T5

lol ur right – tho they unaccessible if flying domestic or UA/AA international which is like most of the traffic. Think the AF-KLM lounge and the Swissport lounge if I remember correctly.

You are very correct. Let’s hope this expansion means more options
