Hardest approaches in Europe

Hello! I just want to know what are the hardest approaches in Europe that have commercial service to that airport:)

Innsbruck, no doubt.

Tivat and Madeira are hard too.

Actually, I believe Courchevel might just be the hardest with it’s sloped surface and at shortness of the runway.

Good point. How could I have missed it?!?

Is Maderia hard because of the winds?

Yes and
The circling approach to 05
The extreme bank angle

Might try that for my next flight!

If the beach at zakynthos is better resolution, it would be zakynthos.

Whats hard about Tivat? I might be flying there IRL this summer.

Well, I can give you 2 airports.

  1. Samos (LGSM)

with a final approach turn at 600ft about ground.

If you want something really challenging I can recommend:

  1. Milos (LGML)

It’s an airport without official charts and a very late final approach turn. Also the ground in front of the runway is higher than the airport elevation which makes the last cockpit callouts useless. The scenery is mind blowing as well and the runway is really short!

I flew there multiple times and @Athenic_flyer20 and @Kostas_K know how hard it actually is xD

I’d say from my experience… Innsbruck’s Circle to Land Runway 8 Visual approach (LOWI), and Madeira’s visual Runway 5 approach (LPMA)

Samos, Madeira, Tivat, Innsbruck, Vagar, London City
Some of the hardest approaches in my opinion. ;)

Gibraltar. A fun approach. Very windy

While everyone is saying Innsbruck and Madeira which are really basic, try Mostar (LQMO) or Brač Island (LDSB), both places served by the Croatia Airlines Dash-8 Q400 from Zagreb.
