I have a question for you because people tend to say, any landing you leave safely is a good landing, even the hard ones.

Do you think so?

A passenger I flew last week actually told me my landings could use improvement. I was actually blown away because it was a damn good landing imo. I was about to be like, “BP!” She could go fly on “AirKaren” next time.

I like to twist it to fit my narrative a bit better:

“The customer may always think they’re right even when I know they’re not.” lol

No way! What authority did this lady have? Like, was SHE a pilot? If not, then she shouldn’t be scolding YOU about your landings.

Your screen shot mentioned “substantial damage to the fuselage including wrinkles (but no know injuries) …the FAA is stil investigating.”

That may have been a non-optimal landing. In other words, safely classified as not so good? Or, an exception to the rule?

At 32 years old, the airframe is not ready for wrinkles?

I think this is an exception to the rule, since it has caused the plane damage like this. Of course, no one was hurt, but the fact that the plane was in this condition could actually have been a danger to everyone, pilots, passengers and crew alike. But I want to know what you think personally.

If my beginner days in infinite flight were real landings, trust, almost every aircraft would be outta service. Used to think -600fpm and less was a greaser… so imagine the -1000+fpm

And then theres people like me, that butters the MD11 like 90% of the time…
but noone believes me because its a so quote “hard plane to land”
But hey even if you snap everyones necks in the process atleast your on the ground ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I typically describe the MD11 as a disobedient child that needs discipline

But thats why I love flying it, Its a challenge.

Even with everyone safe, financial loss still makes for a bad landing, if you’re the one paying the bills.
