Happy Turkey Day!

Hey everybody, happy turkey day! A day to celebrate not only each other, but also those gobbly birds. On a more serious note, I’d like to express my gratitude to the IFC community. If it was not for its existence, I wouldn’t have met new friends that I wouldn’t have in any other setting (ahem, @ThatOneFloridaAvGeek ). Nevertheless, as a gift to you all, I explored a new spotting location and came back with these. The lighting was all over the place due to those thin clouds and the Californian orange sun, so they all have a differing degree of lighting variety! Enjoy!

LAX area factoid

Did you know? There used to be an airfield just a few miles north of LAX! This was Hughes Airfield where the Spruce Goose was built. Said aircraft’s hangar is now a google workspace! In the 80s, a Qantas 747 was said to almost have landed there on accident, but luckily aborted the approach. The airfield is now the village of Playa Vista, with “The Runway” shopping plaza being named after the very place it has been built on. The runway! Read more below:

Delta is a prominent figure on the north side, as it owns the Terminal 2-3 complex!

United is less prominent, but still an active visitor up north with Asia and North US flights landing here.

The North Side occupant, Southwest, used to have T1 all to it’s self after US Airway’s merger, but now has to share space with JBU after T5’s closure.

Delta double header incoming!

Having been on both their A21Ns and B739s, I can say those 2 are my favorite Delta narrow bodies.

Chester used to live on the North, but moved South after a terminal change in 2016-2017 after their VX merger (R.I.P :eagle: (couldn’t find the :dove: emoji).

Lucky to have flown on Asiana before the loss of the Kumho arrow. Sad to see this airline leaving in the future.

A lovely B38M landing! Love the dark to light blue gradient on the tail!

Comin’ in from the Aloha land! Maybe you saw this 767 in the previous photo!

Alright everyone! Thanks for tuning in if you did! Hope you enjoyed my photos! I’ll be going to this location again, and maybe get more spoicy photos! May you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and be blessed with amazing Black Friday deals (hopefully for models)!

Thanks,

@Generic_Flyer
