Happy Birthday to the C172!

Per Cessnas Facebook page

OnThisDay in 1955, the Cessna Skyhawk flew for the first time.

Here’s to an icon still sparking the joy of flight and teaching so many of us how to become confident pilots.

Do you have a favorite 172 memory or photo?

Looks like the Cessna 172 is about 64 years old now, and still going! A beautiful determined aircraft that always flies everywhere in the world.

Never thought the C172 was that old, must be a formidable airplane!

I don’t have a photo of the airplane (despite seeing it several times). From all the liveries or paint designs I’ve seen, this one is my favorite.

Just for further information the first Cessna 172 is located in the Oshkosh regions in the United States with a registration of N5000A.

In 1962, this plane turned seven years old. And that’s what I have in common with it, because I was 172.

Joke Explanation:
Haha what a funny joke that needs an explanation: because 172 / one seven two sounds like once seven too

Conveniently me and the 172 share a birthday. Happy birthday to us! No wonder I am into aviation.

People get mad when you say ”Drive” a plane but the magazine says it so…

In all seriousness this is an amazing Aircraft and I hope to own one in the future

The Cessna 172 made the first flight in the 1950s, and the number of the produced C172 remains the most produced aircraft in the world. More than that, the production still continues until the present day. What a successful aircraft!

That’s probably the only useful thing I’m good at is giving interesting stories lol

I’m glad I’ve gotten the chance to fly this popular choice of a training aircraft. Truly is a wonderful aircraft. Just by looking at the picture provided it shows how many upgrades it’s received. I’ve never seen a picture of the C172 from back then.

I’m not a fan, @RotorGuy.

An ugly thing! Flies nice though, reliable, gets things done, those are the main things you look for in an Airplane, has all of them, just a shame your talking to a Piper Fan!

Lol nothing wrong with that, I personally like Piper but only if the prop sits high and there’s a tiny wheel in the back ;)

@anon70772274 is a student pilot on the 172! It’s a nice plane :) a.k.a the only plane I’ll ever have a chance to buy
