As the first airline in mainland China to introduce A330neo, Hainan Airlines completed the overall assembly and painting of the ** first A330-900** in Toulouse, France in early March 2025, and has officially received this new model in November 2025. This new model will gradually become an important part of HNA’s wide-body fleet.

:rocket: Excellent performance
High-efficiency engine: Equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engine, the fuel efficiency is significantly improved. It is said that it can be improved by about 14% compared with the previous model, and the noise level is further reduced.

Flexible operation: It is capable of short-distance, long-distance and even high-altitude routes, which provides more possibilities for the layout of Hainan Airlines’ route network.

“Dream Feather” interior: The new aircraft adopts Hainan Airlines’ highly acclaimed “Dream Feather” interior design, and is equipped with the award-winning Airbus “Flight Space” cabin.

Cabin layout: two-level cabin layout is adopted, with 24 business class seats and 277 economy class seats, a total of 301 seats.

Improve comfort: The cabin provides more personal space, a larger overhead luggage compartment and a new lighting system.

Fleet update: Hainan Airlines plans to introduce 20 A330-900, mainly to update its outdated A330-200 fleet.

Route deployment: New aircraft are expected to be launched mainly on domestic trunk lines and regional routes, such as Haikou to Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and other popular business and tourism routes.

Market role: With its excellent efficiency and flexibility, the A330neo is regarded as an ideal model to replace about 200 A330ceo series of mainland China Airlines.

Ooo yay its been delivered! Great to see the A330neo operators growing this year with Air Côte d’Ivoire receiving their first aircraft delivered in September and Air Algérie getting ready to receive their first and now MEA has a firm order for four A330neos!
