Gutted

Made a rookie mistake where my 3 year old son could get his hands on my iPad, literally gone for 2 minutes and find my plane has crashed. Got 5 violations and ghosted, lost my grade 3 to grade 1. Absolutely gutted šŸ˜¢

This is a common occurrence, and is an unfortunate thing that happens to the best of us, kids, pets, anything that may reach your device, may ruin your flight. Thereā€™s nothing we can do and there is every right to be guttered and annoyed

@Mike_Lima_Tango that is highly inappropriate and is not something we say to someone on the IFC.

Yea, my heart is with you. I allways had 2 violations, my entire IF life and the other day I got 5 at a time and was demoted to grade 2.
It hurts!

We all make mistakes. I wouldnā€™t necessarily call getting violations a rookie mistake since even the best of best can get them in stressful or distractive situations. I personally may be Grade 5, have thousands of hours, flown on IF for years, yet I also fall of violations, least 5-10 annually because we are always learning something new arenā€™t we :)

From here in out you know exactly how to further avoid getting Violations. Each mistake is a stepping stone to achieve something bigger and erase one more flaw had. Next time you know to place your device so your beloved 3 year old son doesnā€™t touch the screen. On flip side while you wait 1 week to get back to Grade 3, you get some time to spend with your family of yours too šŸ‘Ŗ

I wish you a great weekend ahead of you and easter holiday too and always remember that we human constantly keep learning new thing based in our actions, even the faulty ones šŸ™Œ

Thank you, my family means everything to me, I didnt tell him off he doesnā€™t know better, my fault. I try my best not to get violations, but getting 5 in a row just killed me aha, happy holidays

You are in many ways quite lucky, only have 7 total violationsā€¦

Been there done that, learnt my lesson. Now I donā€™t take off or land when the kids are about itā€™s too distracting and if I am flying a long haul while they are up I make sure the game lock on my S9+ is enabled

Give it a week and youā€™ll back to grade 3 with even more knowledge

Happy Easter :)

I have between 50 and 60 violations and I thought I had a lot lol.

Most of them was overspeed and airport size- and airspace restrictions from back in 2014-15 ;)

Letā€™s continue back on topic please

Thatā€™s pretty unfortunate. I leaned my lesson when I was flying at about 12,000 feet and my dog disengaged the auto pilot. This happened a very long time ago so plus I didnā€™t even know what I was doing šŸ˜‚

How does a dog do that???

Well I have a pretty big dog so when she jumped up on the couch and sat on my device I regretted it. Lesson: never leave your device on the couch if you have a pet. šŸ˜‚ oh and she just jumped onto my bed

My ferret has caused me to drop my phone and lose control while taxiing. Somehow that ghost got reversed.

I am not going to name him but I saw a pilot in IF with over 1000 violations!

That has happened to me 4 times. The thing is, I have never gotten gosted. (All 4 times I accidentally disengaged it) Now I have like 22 violations.

As they say in the wonderful world of aviationā€¦

OOF

Ha, a buttox can take down a plane. Who knew?
