Hello again IFC!

After an exciting and engaging phase of final touches and beta testing, thanks to our testers incredible feedback, we’re thrilled to announce that Groupifly is officially ready for takeoff! 🎉🎉🎉

What’s Groupifly?

Groupifly is your new go-to platform to find fellow Infinite Flight pilots who want to fly alongside you. Whether you’re setting off on a quick hop or a have a transcontinental trek planned, Groupifly makes it easy to find other pilots who are ready to take to the skies with you. From individual meetups to multi-aircraft group flights, Groupifly opens up a whole new level of interaction in Infinite Flight!

🚀 Core features available today

  • Public Group Flights: Post and browse open flight listings to find others who want to join you for your flight, or flights you’d like to take part in! Group flights can be listed with a single parameter, whether that’s a departure or arrival airport, departure time, time enroute, aircraft type, or more - no need to plan the whole flight out in your brain before positng! Just choose what works for you and go!

  • Become or Find a Tutor: If you’re Grade 3 or higher in Infinite Flight and have a low violation/landing ratio, you’ll have the option to volunteer as a tutor in your profile settings page. Tutors can highlight their strengths, areas of speciality, and availability right on their profile, making it easy to connect with others eager to learn from you.

  • Browse Group Flights and Tutors: Seamlessly explore the Groupifly tutor directory to find upcoming training flights you can join or locate a tutor who’s the perfect fit to help you sharpen your skills.

Coming Soon to Groupifly

  • Flight Gallery: Soon, you’ll be able to upload and showcase screenshots from your favourite Groupifly flights, with a selection of images featured on your profile - perfect for sharing those memorable moments with anyone viewing your profile!

  • Larger Group Flights: Initially, the maximum participants per flight is topped off at 10, but we’re already working on expanding support for larger group flights and events.

  • VA/VO Profile Pages: Virtual Airlines and Virtual Organisations can soon create dedicated profile pages, making Groupifly an even better hub for the Infinite Flight Community and people looking for IF VAs/VOs!

Looking Further Down the Road

  • Mobile App: Groupifly on-the-go! We’re working on a mobile app to make using Groupifly even more convenient.

  • Enhanced VA/VO Support: New tools are in development to make it easier for VAs and VOs to organise both internal and public events, as well as offer curriculum support directly on Groupifly!

I just have a question for group flights, is there like a system where let’s say I post a flight and other people wanted to join is there a button they press that notifies me that a people have signed up? Also is there a way we can communicate like a private chat or a group flight chat or do we have to communicate via other apps or websites like a DM in the IFC.

Great question @AviatorVJ. Right now we have notifications within the site itself and there is private chat for participants in the flight within the chat. You can choose to take your communications off-site but we have provided these tools to communicate.

We are actively working to bring push notifications to the web application so your browser can surface notifications even when you aren’t actively using the flight and as the post says a mobile app is coming as well.

I’ve been playing around with my profile and I wanted to become a tutor and change my profile picture, it doesn’t seem to have changed it as when I go to my profile nothing has changed.
