True, but the GPU likely doesn’t even have a soundpack

In real life the Pilots turn on the APU if they start pushback and when they park at the Gate so that between engine shutdown and GPU availability the Aircraft has power and doesn‘t fall into the Cold and Dark State immediately.

I think it has some noise. I think in other Sims like XPlane you hear the GPU when it is plugged into the Aircraft and supplying it.

Speaking as ground crew the GPU does make noise, a fair bit actually.
Depends on the aircraft type and operator but the APU is normally turned on 5-10 mins before departure and the GPU is disconnected. Some aircraft require the GPU to start up so its left connected til one engine is started. (ATR/Saab 340/Jetstream 41/etc) (Battery starts can be done but very rare)

@AdamCallow - Do you think it would make the SIM Even more realistic with the GPU? Or do you think it is nice-to-have but unnecessary?

I don’t think you can spilt the points really. Adding it would add that nice extra touch of realism. I’m all for it but I’m bias given my job.

We definitely need this. Don’t want to have the APU running the whole time at the gate.

This is definitely a feature that is needed in the game, and as animations come to 3D airports, this feature could really be brought to life.

Now that we have the first 3D animations confirmed, I believe there is a strong possibility of it being added in 2022-23
Great Idea Hope it gets into IF in an update or so but more like Mid to Late 2022
Will be perfect to have in IF, it would look great to have it animated, like wires connected to aircraft.
Belt loader, Catering, Pallet loader, cones, GPU. That’s a lot…
