Always love flying from auckland to queenstown. Even more so when its actually staffed by atc for once. I also love when there are 100+ knot crosswinds to fly into cuz they are always fun
Try flying from Iceland to Norway
I experienced 124kts winds when I flew it an hour ago
Im on the return leg rn and my plane is actually moving mad oh my goodness
I reported that in the Official pireps thread!
I flew from Keflavík (BIKF)-Boston (KBOS). What a crazy flight. FL340 I was dealing with Ext Turb and 134kt Crosswind. Descended to FL280 got out of the wind a bit but the Ext Turb lasted at least 35 minutes. I think it would be so cool if we were able to report wind and turbulence mid flight like on Aviation Weather Centers website.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the seatbelt sign is turned off, feel free to roam… bing the seatbelt sign is back on for the remainder of the flight.”
Nice winds! I’ve had around 134kts at fl390 when I flew there from a flight from Amsterdam.
Yesterday i had 136kts over nevada but tail
If you approach Seattle from the east, when going over the mountains at certain times they’ll be some pretty rough winds, it got up to 120kts the other day.
The only time I experience such heavy winds is above FL320. I hit 147kts flying out of KLAS towards KCMH when I was about halfway there.
A few months ago I had a 165kt tailwind flying from KSEA-KJFK
