2020
Introduction
2020, frankly has been an awful year in general. COVID-19 caused a virtual shutdown of the planet, many people lost their jobs and many also paid the ultimate price with their life. My thought go out to all who lost a loved one. While the world around us shutdown, the Infinite Flight Community became more and more vibrant. As always, this community has always been like a big, complicated family which eventually finds a way forward. It’s refreshing seeing the many topics created by many users which were full of positivity.Back to Infinite Flight, as a longtime user of the sim and of the community, its refreshing to see the many new updates that have arrived within the past year, from the mighty 777 rework to the modest soft rework of the 737NG family. Add the 757 rework to the collection and one would justifiably say that Infinite Flight saved Christmas, and made the rest of the year tolerable for many.
My flights
As usual, just as any year, I tried to take advantage of the new update to try flying to as many countries as possible. The lockdowns and obviously working from home enabled me to maximise the number of countries covered.

Majority of the new countries visited are in Africa and South America. In total 71 countries were visited.
- 1507730km covered in total, nearly double the distance covered in 2019.
- Average distance per sector was 5076km.
- The longest flight performed was Auckland to Dubai operated by the Emirates 777-300ER at 14200km, with flight times of nearly 17 hours, however by distance covered, Heathrow to Perth on the Qantas 787 at 14500km took the crown, though the tailwinds shortened the flight time.
- The shortest flight was Kigali to Bujumbura operated by the Kenya Airways 737-800 at 175km with the flight barely exceeding 30 minutes.
As the year ends, I’d like to wish all of you here, a happy new year, and cheers to new beginnings.
