Good way to fly into EGLL

Hey IFC! Every time I try to fly into LHR from the USA my game always crashes. I am on the iPad Air Gen 3 by the way. I was wondering if you guys have the same issue and if you have the same device as me, what do you do to not make it crash? Thanks!

Lower brightness and put your device on a surface that doesn’t help heat it more (like tinfoil). At cruise you can turn your sound off, and look up at the sky so rendering isn’t as heavy as when you look out the window.

What @Icey said, but also turn down the graphics settings.

I usually do that and then I turn up my settings back to what I normally fly with when arriving, it crashes. Last time I tried to fly into LHR, I was on left base and my game crashed.

I’ll try using your tips for an overnight tonight.

Showing us your settings could help us provide more information :)

Here you go!

The device is iPad Air Gen 3. @anon87523340

This is probably why if your ipad runs infinite flight on majority of the settings on high it can make your ipad heat up quicker

I’d suggest turning all of them to low and then say if you have any problems next time

I have the exact same ipad as you and I experienced the same problem but it solved when I turned the settings to lowest possible

What I’m going to do is keep the settings as is for now (usually 3D object density is on medium but set it to low due to LHR having 21000 objects) and during cruise lower as many settings as I can.

When you fly into EGLL is your 3D object density at low or medium?

If you keep the rendering quality at high infinite flight renders more blocks and makes them better quality causing your ipad to heat up faster and to run slower, If you want to keep it at high thats up to you what I recommend is follow the advice the people gave you above

I fly into egll quite a lot and it is low

I’ll set that for low then on my way in. I’ll also leave 3D object density at low for this flight. Usually don’t have an issue at medium but due to LHR having 21000 3D objects (JFK has around 12000 3D objects), low should definitely be better.

I fully agree

Actually the resolution is what causes most app crashes (on my device). After several experiments I realised that everytime I move the resolution settings, I get screen freezes, and eventually, app crashes.

I’ve also seen Schyllberg explain that’s the 3D object density and Graphics Resolution were the settings which “consumes” the most out of your device.
