Pilots letting another pilot through without causing too much trouble on a busy Airport; solving small conflicts on their own. Happened to me while controlling JFK Ground the other day. On some instances, they taxied through each other or were just sitting there until I instructed one of them to move :laughing:

Once the ATC forgot to clear me for pushback (forgot basically) but then gave me fast-lane taxi to holding short at takeoff runway : )

Good moments when someone taxis though your aircraft, then ATC gives them a level 3 :joy:

Yeah, I’ve actually seen quite a few. Using landing lights to communicate who has right away always makes me laugh. You can tell people that have driver licenses.

Managing a busy airport on ground, seeing an impending conflict between 4 different planes (either taxiing, parking, pushing back) → then giving all of them progressive taxi instructions, clearing the conflict → receiving thank yous from all aircraft involved :smirking_face: (CYYZ today)

So many individual moments, but if I had to pick a couple general ones:

  1. The chain reaction of a sequence of pilots on the Canarsie approach 13s at JFK all reporting the airport in sight.
  2. Pilots requesting pattern work and actually flying patterns properly.
  3. Pilots who replace their simbrief flight plans with the STARs and approaches from within the IF app (airport information → procs)
  4. Announcing closing on center and about 30 "thank you, good day"s back and forth on frequency prior to shutting down.

And probably the best of all: Pilots who reach out to inquire about the reasoning behind something I did while controlling leading to positive and constructive discussions.
