Golden Skies of Summer | Spotting @KDEN 6/16/20

Hello everyone!
Last month, I once again handed out of the mountains and down to Denver to visit family. One beautiful evening, I was relaxing at my aunt’s house when she surprisingly offered to take me planespotting. I was a bit worried about my family because no one had ever energetically offered to take me! Of course I was very excited about this and immediately hopped in the car. When I got out there, it was fairly cloudy to the west which unfortunately meant the first few arrivals didn’t have the best lighting. Luckily that changed quickly as the sky turned into that beautiful gold color we all love. This color was also magnified because of the typical summer forest fires that filled the sky with smoke. There were a lot of arrivals, most of which were Southwest Airlines! I was very happy that I was finally able to return to Denver. Anyways, here are some of the photos:

Great shots! And one other note:

Southwest and Alaska have the best special liveries, change my mind.

Great photos as always! Love seeing spotting topics from Denver.

There was actually a 400-ish acre brush fire near me two weeks ago and the leftover smoke from the fire gave a really lovely orange/red color. Here’s a photo of the sunset from the other day - Colorado sunsets never disappoint

Colorado sunsets are literally the best and no one can change my mind. I feel like summers are underrated in Colorado cause everyone always thinks winter is better but I think it’s the other way around!

Smonk make sky look pretty 😍

Also yeah Colorado sunsets are the best, can’t say the same about the cities.

Honestly Colorado gets the best of both worlds because down near the foothills we get pretty mild winters, and during the summer we don’t have to deal with humidity. I’ve been sitting out on the deck for dinner the past couple months, something I probably wouldn’t be doing if I was in Florida or Texas. Only problem with the summers is this:

Nice and 95 degrees shouldn’t ever go together.

Which cities are bad? I mean yeah there are parts of Denver that aren’t nice I’m just surprised cause most of Colorado cities score very high in most ratings. Plus the planespotting is awesome so you can’t beat that.

Where were you standing to take these

WOW! Those are all amazing! If you got those today, I watched the Alaska “Honoring Those Who Serve” livery take off on Flight Radar 24. The livery is tied with another one of my favorites, their “More to Love” one. Awesome photos!
