GOL Linhas Aéreas, a Rio de Janeiro based low cost airline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy voluntarily with the United States Court. They offer an extensive route network across South America, the Caribbean, and the US.

Dang, hopefully it doesn’t get worse since I don’t want their MIA → BSB flights going away since AA doesn’t serve them nor LATAM

The Simple Flying article states that operations still are continuing. I’m no legal expert, and I have no idea how a Chapter 11 filing impacts their flights if at all.

I checked MIAs wikipedia page and it says nothing about the routes ending so were good for now

To my small AP economics knowledge, Chapter 11 just means that the company will go under some serious reorganization to pay back debtors while still maintaining operations. Delta, United, and American have all gone through Chapter 11 at some point in their history.
