I really think this is a great idea for global especially for the long haul flights as stated. It will require a lot of work but its a brilliant plan!

Tbh this could be done with friends from over countries who can plan a flight and change over captains during time. This would probably be the best feature ever added apart from Global and Concorde.

Since it is only logical that you will finally run out of your infinite fuel in global and have to gas up at least one intermediate stop along the way to your final dest…unless you are in a 747-x or A380 size jet and have an ample supply for your entire intercontinental trip…then that would be the place to change the flight crew…also someone explain how LNAV works…and whether it is an additional pay service to global …or will be included as standard with global…

From what I know so far, you press a button named “NAV” and it is basically supposed to follow your flight plan as filed. Will it be a paid feature? I suppose not. It will probably be a free feature just like the new fuel burn feature.

LNAV stands for Lateral Navigation. It is a new feature that will be coming soon in the global update. Take a gander at this Wikipedia page for more information:

This is actually a pretty smart idea - you and a buddy could switch off during cruise, and have shared cockpit or someone do the approach and departure.

Community polls and the fact it was confirmed last year and their is already a design made for it. It’s not gonna be added until the A330 re-work MD11 and A350 I think, I would have to check. But that still means it comes early next yr

He said “multiple pilots”. Now imagine 4 pilots in a cockpit of IF and some how one of the pilots wants to crash. As they are on expert server they all are going to get violations/ghosts? Seems kind of unfair.

That’s the cool thing of raising a feature idea; you leave it up to developers to work out the details of the ideas ;-)

Great idea. Brought this up before, but again this community (I think) is a little too negative. Instead of slamming ideas like these with cons, develop it and help each other find a way around. Don’t sympathise with the developers, help them and push them. Anything is possible…Anyway. Read about the LNAV, automatically follows flight plan but what about ATC?

I have serious doubts about this. What happens when someone doesn’t show up for their shift or has to leave early?

For me it’s a lot of work for a small feature; why not just do shorter routes if you can’t put in the time?
