Global Airlines today announced on social media that they finally have scheduled flights! The all-A380 carrier will operate from the UK to New York/JFK beginning May 15th of this year. The scheduled flights include a Glasgow (GLA) to JFK service departing May 15 with a return on May 19, and a Manchester (MAN) to JFK route departing May 21 with a return on May 25. AviationA2Z reports that the airline will have updated menus (updated from what, I’m not sure) and “limited edition” amenity kits for all passengers.
It’s been a long time coming - the airline was officially established in 2021, and had numerous start dates pushed back for a variety of reasons.
I do wonder if this airline will survive. I mean, they have a fair number of investors, but an all-A380 airline seems quite ambitious, especially on routes from the UK and the US, which already have a wide variety of wide body operators.
it’s super ambitious for this to be profitable in just a short amount of time I must say, but I’m rooting for them! ill be at JFK for their arrival. having a new airline at JFK, let alone one that operates the A380, will be pretty dang cool.
