Nice! Congratulations!

do you still have that beep beep from the glider stuck in your head?

Haha, there weren’t many thermals so didn’t really hear the vario that flight. 😂

That’s good to hear lol

so it was a short flight?

Yeah, 15 minutes, did The full flight, towed up to 3,000ft. Did two spins and full recovery. Then landing. Overall good flight!

With a nice butter at the end, though :)

Cool stuff! Are you close to soloing? I believe the minimum age in the US to solo is 14.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah, covid 19 screwed up my solo, I was going to be going solo on my 14th birthday (same solo requirement in the UK) but I couldn’t go for ages. I can go gliding now. Just need a mask on when I’m the cockpit.

I remember my first solo; it’s a great feeling! Keep up the good work!

Fixed-wing, although looking to do a glider add-on in the future. Nevertheless, my first solo was one of my proudest moments. You’ll get there soon.

This is so cool. I’ve been wanting to find a glider club around me, but can’t seem to.

If you’ve got any cool tips, let me know!

I got a gliding experience flight from my great grandpa who was a fighter pilot and gliding instructor. That’s how I found and got into gliding

@tomthetank needs to evaluate as a certified instructor 🧐

Personally I feel that was an amazing landing for a first landing, GA aircraft, and especially a glider!!!

I’d love to learn to glide, but there’s not many thermals near me, the nearest known glider-port (not correct name I’m sure) is 1 hour away and has a huge wire launch strip. You’re not in the air for long though. Sadly I missed out on the day a group I go to flew there. Was so sad.

Yeah, the club I go to has both winch and aerotow, winch launches are fun but it’s a shame because most of the flight is entering high key for the pattern. I tend to go aerotow when I can.
