Give Way to Aircraft question

When ATC tells you to give way, you obviously stop the aircraft. Once the aircraft your giving way to is clear what do you do? Do you just continue taxi or wait for ATC to clear you to continue taxi?

“Give way” is similar to a yield sign when you’re driving.

Let the other plane(s) go first, then go when the path is clear.

I’ve had ATC say Thank You to me if I stopped to give way other aircraft without their need to tell me to give way. Makes me feel happy and good.

Alternatively, you may simply slow down if the conflict aircraft is still some distance away. It’s really up to pilots’ judgment if they wish to slow down or hold position.

I usually continue on, nothing has happened yet (I don’t recommend you do the same though lol) Its been a while but I’m pretty sure they have a “Continue Taxi” command.

If you are instructed to give way then you can continue your tax I without any further instruction from the controller required.

If you are instructed to hold position then you need to receive a “continue taxi” command from the controller before recommencing your taxi.
