I wanted to bring to your attention that after a 14-hour flight, I was unable to establish communication with any UNICOM airport, specifically at KORD.
During my approach, I switched between cellular data and Wi-Fi to see if the issue was related to my connection.
If this is an unknown problem, here are the details I encountered.
I had to switch between Wi-Fi and cellular to get information from ATC. It was impossible to receive ATC communication from other aircraft, so I had to keep switching to stay informed. At times, ATC communication would just stop working, even though I was still connected, leaving me on a “ghost frequency” where no ones could answer you, only you could send intentions!
The probability of an approach frequency being muted for more than five minutes is quite low, especially when there are two approach frequencies active haha!
I noticed a few problems during the flight:
I couldn’t connect to the ATC frequency unless I accessed it from the airport’s OACI blue/pink panel.
IFATC @Moose0308 had to let me know that I was in his active airspace. I also mentioned three times that I was on final approach and requested approach to IFATC three times as well.
Between my flight from OTHH and this one, I turned off my device and was disconnected for two hours, which I believe indicates a problem in the game that I haven’t experienced before.
See screenshots below:
First try contact with Approach, no answer, no any instructions from other aircraft
Impossible to contact any frequency, or surrounds UNICOM airport. (I switched my Wifi to Cellular on short final to get clearance to land impossible to connect even if the ATC asked me to contact his frenquency.)
I’d also like to point out that everything went well on departure from KMIA, no communication problems. It’s as if this communication problem had occurred at some point during the flight.
