Before someone complains that I said I wouldn’t go spotting again soon, I can’t remember that I’ve ever given such a statement. Due to another special movement I made my way Munich Airport again (only the 3rd time this year, so please stay calm)
Before the special arrived I had to kill some time so I tried a new position in the final of runway 26L after an Eurowings A330 went over me there in amazing light last time so here’s the arrival of D-AIDC from below.
After a few quick shots I moved to another location with a nice view of the airport. At some point, a little bizjet crossed the trees in front of the runway.
Not the greatest photo but an interesting one for me since I learned that @DirkGiessmann was on it on his trip to Graz just when I arrived at the airport.
After that, the winter light offered quite nice motives such as Air France’s A319.
A bit later, Avianca’s Boeing 787 touched down from Bogota.
A few weeks ago I showed you CSA’s special livery promoting Prague operating for Lufthansa. By now, they changed the plane so now we have the regular livery operating Lufthansa’s Bucharest flight.
Another visitor from the East was one I’ve actually never spotted before, ibound from Iasi, Blue Air’s 737 touched down in amazing light as well.
You might already notice it, eventually the shutter speed became lower since the light started to face due to some clouds approaching. Austrian’s A320 still got some ok-ish light though.
You remember the title of the topic? Yes, even though the topic started quite good at some point fate started to troll all of us standing on the spotter hill. While we we’re waiting for the actual special, another amazing plane approached Munich which had us quite hyped…well, until it landed. This (dark) FedEx 777 was the jet carrying a Panda back to China from Washington DC. Doesn’t that sticker behind the cockpit window look amazing?
With the 777 being stripped off its Panda sticker some days ago, we were now expecting the 747 we’ve been waiting for. Well, almost. Initially, TF-AMN was scheduled to arrive from Athens at 1500L. However, the plane failed to descend where we expected it and another 747 was instead flying to Munich from Frankfurt Hahn. As a result, the landing didn’t happen at 1500 with amazing light but with a dull shadow at 1600Z.
Let’s hope for better luck next time which will (hopefully) not happen within the next few days, but I better shouldn’t promise such things anymore. See you next time!
