I would like to see an inclusion of a gear stowage and gear locked system in IF. This would be to show that the landing gear is completely down but also when the landing gear is in completely stowed away. It would be a matter of linking and changing the color of the Gear button to show how long the action is happening.
The main benefit would be to help those new to the app know how long they need to have the gear put down. I have seen some on a GPS approach fail to put gear down in time.
It is a simple feature really and would be helpful until if/when a fully automated cockpit is added. The main thing would be using the Yellow as an indication that the landing gear is in the process of being retracted or extending. Will Gear is up the indication would be off as normal but on the ground the indication would be Green.
It is really not that large of a feature and not a huge necessity at the moment but would be a realistic addition to the app in the absence of an automated cockpit.
But when we select the gear to extend, the gear button turns orange. And when we retract the gear the button goes grey… I think we already have this indication.

The indication turns on once selected but does not show the difference between when the gear are in the process of descending or ascending. When selected the button shows only two phases, up or down, the gears have three phases Fully down, retracting/extending, and stowed.

Is you have flaps on full it already says “GEAR DOWN” next to the altitude indicator at the side of the screen.
This only comes on when the gear is locked.

I’d like to see this for the realism. It would also provide the ability that the gear is down and locked while on final (even if full flaps aren’t deployed).

I think this is a cool feature (hit my vote limit)

But you shouldnt be putting gear down when flaps are full they should be down before at from 15-25. The reason it comes up is because the gear should already be down at flaps full.

Please, if you are going to promptly publish a #features request we ask that you vote for it yourself as not doing this action may indicate that you do not fully back your own idea.

All you need to do is press the “volume up button,” then you will be able to hear the gear coming down. When the noise stops, your gear is locked. Sometimes you’ve go to use your other senses instead of just sight all the time.
