Gear is not the limit (Night spotting edition)

Surprise surprise, remember last time i say night spotting on a crop sensor is impossible? well turns out its just skill issues xD. anyway here are some decent but nothing too impressive night shot taken on my sony a6000, hope y’all enjoy!

Starting off with Singapore Airlines A350-900

Lufthansa A350-900 Rare night time arrival due to weather diversion

Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300er

Qatar A350-1000

moving on to some ground shots
Experimenting with 0.5s pan

Japan Airlines Flagship A350-1000

Air Niugini 767 taxiing into the gate

United continental livery on their 787-9

JAL B777-300er carrying the One World Livery

Thats all for this time, Hope yall enjoy. Remember plane spotting can be done regarding which gear you use, with time and practice anything can be achieve : ) so dont let ur gear determine your skill.

that’s amazing, such great shots! :open_mouth:

what settings do you use? I play around with them on my EOS M200 but it never turns out so great like yours (unless you wanna gatekeep them lol)

maybe it’s a canon skill issue…

I dont share my exact setting as i feel like the point is to go out and experiment to find the right setting that work for u. I do give a range tho. my standard range for shutter speed is between 1/3 to 1/20 for ground. Try practice ground pan and get comfortable with it before moving to air shots if you’re not comfortable with low shutter speed u can always start from 1/80 and work your way down. The same apply for air shots just that the ISO will be significantly higher and the plane going much faster. My shot is taken with 10,000 ISO and aperture go as low as u can. Once u find the right setting its just practice and more practice.

No problem. Dont get discouraged if you cant get anything in first few attempts we all started somewhere with time and practice it’ll be very rewarding

What joke?

Are you sure you can take it? Its all in good fun but I don’t want you to take it the wrong way.

Your photos got more grain than a Nebraska cornfield. Probably cause homie shoots like ISO 50000 is a personality trait.

Where are your night shots again?

Gotta wait till November or December cause I’m smart enough not to be around Inglewierd at 11 pm with $2,000 worth of equipment :joy:.

You’re talking to the wrong person.

Are you saying Butter can’t take a joke?

I think you’re mixing up who takes grainy photos here.
