I think I added a chart from @ATK in here somewhere, anyway this should help :)
Haha thatâs even longer i thought it was supposed to be faster since its an emergency :-1
I thought you should be fully configured at your final approach FIX
No, I donât believe so. Where did you hear that?
It was a simmer on YouTube, he is a pilot aswell. But I probably didnât hear what he said 100%
No, thatâs too early. See @Aernout post above.
Beginning of final at 3,500ft
It really depends. Sometime youâll have the out earlier than usual to slow down, instead of using the speedbrakes which create uncomfortable vibrations. Sometime youâll extend the gears a bit later because of a speed restriction.
On most commercial flights, the LDG gears will be lowered between 8-5nm from the runway.
When flying a smaller aircraft (such as the DA42, Baron 58âŚ) the rule is to be fully configured for landing at 300ft. So itâs up to you. I usually lower the gears between 1,5nm and 3nm.
I like to be fully configured at around 3.5 - 5 nm out
On early IF, forgot several times to put the gear down đ, now I use to put it down about 2500 feet, 5 to 8 nm.
The citation has a lot of drag with gear down, have anyone noticed?
