Game Keeps Crashing When Using the Multitask Feature

Hello!

So, like this has been happening lately and the recent one was just now. Like, whenever I’m listening to music while flying using the multitask feature that Apple has. The game crashes. Like, is there a way to fix this?

Hello.

This seems like a RAM management issue with your device. What iPad do you have? Which iOS version are you on?

I have the IPad 9.7 and I’m using IOS 14.3

Which year?

I’m pretty sure it’s from 2016. But the device is only like a year old from when I got it. It’s apart of the IPad Pro family

What exactly are you doing to get the app to crash? Are you having Spotify/Apple Music in the background whilst using Infinite Flight? Can we get as many details as possible, please.

Spotify > Apple Music

I usually have 3 tabs open. FpltoIF, SoundCloud, and IFC

So just to get this clear, your sound is coming from your browser rather than an standalone music application? If so, what browser do you use?

Yeah. I use Safari. Don’t have the SoundCloud app

Okay. Do you physically have the browser tab overlap with Infinite Flight? So, something like this:

Yep. I do.

Regardless of the applications you’re using on the multitasking page, with 2GB of RAM and the Apple 9X chipset, performance will be significantly less, even if the device is relatively new.

Your best bet would be to clear the RAM before each flight. A soft restart of the device may help as well.

To Clear the RAM

  1. Unlock your iPad.

  2. Press and hold the Power button until you see the Slide to Power Off option.

  3. Release the Power button.

  4. Hold down the Home button for about 5 seconds. The screen will flash white and then return to the Home Screen. This will indicate that the RAM has been cleared.
