hello all, after attempting my first flight since the release of 22.5, my game crashes midflight, and i really dont know why. are there any ways to fix this?
Can you tell us more, like the device you’re using, your graphics settings when flying, and if you had other apps open while flying?
iphone 13, i never have other apps open
Were you flying out of a crowded airport? Were your graphics settings maxed?
i did not fly out of a crowded airport and my graphics were not maxed out
We need to be more specific (the flight you were doing, exact graphics settings, clouds, iOS software version). It’ll be easier to isolate the event, see what could have happened and if it can be replicated.
The suggestion I have for now is clearing scenery cache and restarting your device one time. Hope it won’t crash again.
im currently on the latest ios update and i do restart my device before every flight, and i was flying from Sao Paulo (GRU) to Chicago (ORD) my clouds are set at FL280 (28,000ft)
This could just be a regular crash, has it happened since?
in a while actually
Sorry I don’t understand it’s has happene again?
yes, for the first time since installing 22.5 and this last happened about 2 months ago
Alright, we’ll here are my suggestions, Clear you senery catch before every flight as well as restarting you device, if this does not work I would recommend deleting and reinstalling the app, keep in mind this will delete all your replays so back up the ones you need. If all of these still does not work and the crash keeps persisting contact support staff.
ok thank you
update: ive contacted support a few days ago and still waiting for them to get back to me, is there anything else i can do in the meantime to fix the issue?
Your game has been consistently crashing correct.
yes, correct
Okay if you have tried all the steps above and reinstalled the app I would recommend the flowing
- Limit you graphics is to low or medium and keep it on low when you are cruising
- Set your aircraft count to very low, the game having to process many aircraft at once may lead to a crash.
- Turn you brightness down and limit your fps to 30
- Keep performing restarts and clear the Senary Catch before every flight, even if you don’t have you device crash on you regularly this is a good practice.
- Make sure no apps the consume a large amount of ram are not running in the background, if you have apps like IF assistant this may be a because
- I don’t know if this might work but check you storage it might be a reason.
This is a very special case when IF crashes Constantly, especially on a new phone like the 13. Il also flag the topic so a staff memeber who could help better can take a look at it.
i have an iphone 13, i clear my scenery and restart my phone before any flight and i never have third party apps running during my flight
Right just to make sure, if you are doing all that and you game still crashes on every flight there Is nothing more I can do, this could be a user specific problem or a wider one. Right now I would just sit tight and wait for a staff response.
@Fourthnebula919 ok, have you flagged this topic yet so a staff member can assist me?
