As many of you know I recently started working at the Reno-Tahoe Airport (KRNO) doing the AA contract that my company took over this month. Right now we are doing cabin cleaning and BSO but will be doing ramp for regionals in September. Tonight we had 3 RONs and from Chicago, Dallas and from Phoenix. Two of them were Airbus A319s and one Boeing 737-800. As always ask questions below and I’ll do my best to answer them.
On average, how long does it take to clean the aircraft?
do you wipe the TV and handrests? do you wipe inside the tray table?
What is the funniest/weirdest/most remarkable/valuable thing someone has left in a plane that you or a colleague have found?
Do you just clean the cabin or do you clean the cockpit too?
About an hour per plane
Yes we wipe every ring with a cleaning spray. Even the seat gets sprayed
Just the cabin. A supervisor or lead has to clean the cockpit
Yesterday was my first day soo I’ll keep you updated
Do you every have a break of sorts at the end when you can walk around the cabin or sit for a while?
Not really. It’s basically just straight cleaning
Dirtiest plane you’ve seen?
Cool! Congrats on the move and new job at Reno!
What’s the work environment like? Is it calm, stressful, relaxed, or something else?
Good to know that I now know another user in the state of Nevada ;)
Hope you enjoy your new job working with these awesome aircraft!
Pretty chill actually. Night shifts are usually a lot calmer than days
First day was yesterday soo couldn’t tell you
