Fuel transfer

Yesterday I was watching air crash investigation episode name routing on empty and it’s had uneven amount of fuel in each engine this was a Airbus a 330 200 so they transferred fuel from engine 1 to engine 2 I think with fuel burn confirmed we should be able to do this.

I think this would require complex controls in if. I really hope they add more controls and this too. Great feature request

I think they should add other missing controls before this.

As it is you can already take off with no fuel on one side/all fuel on either side…

Maybe if the plane is not balanced correctly it may drop slightly on one side? 🤔

If autopilot isn’t compensating. Yes.

Adding to that. I just stalled an A321 out doing just this. Deep stall as in 0 IAS Freefalling. If i’d had another 2-3,000ft I might have been able to recover it. Fuel imbalance is serious business.

Why would we need this? Its kinda pointless

Not sure if it would be needed…

We can already do this. Maybe with fuel burn you should be able go into the fuel settings and only transfer from tank to tank but not increase your fuel load.

Have you experimented with heavy crosswind take off/ landing? I wonder if the weight transfer could be used for stabilization? I can’t, I’m out til tomorrow.

I just did a Boeing 777-200LR with all the fuel on the right side, and it just kept rolling until it hit the ground. I tried with the A321, and it was pretty easy to recover.
