Hello, so I’ve been trying to fly the Sydney to Heathrow route on the a350 but every time I take off with 100% fuel and reach cruising altitude then leave it on autopilot+ and come back later 20% of my fuel suddenly disappears. I wanted to see if this was a glitch of sorts or is there something I’m missing.
It is a well-known issue that fuel management can be either overly conservative or, conversely, excessive when using AP+, and this becomes a problem particularly during headwind flights or when the payload ratio is high. Additionally, more fuel is commonly consumed when the return time from AP+ is shorter.
IF only has the A359, no ULR’s so that oculd be one reason you cannot fly it if your going realistically. Another reason is that 100% fuel may not be optimal, although I don’t know your cruising altidtude, flight route, or anything like that. Also what @AIRBUS-SE said about AP+ applys here too.
thank you. This is annoying. Because as far as I’m concerned the plane could make the realistic route. And what @AIRBUS-SE mentioned about the fuel being consumed the shorter time the return time is, because that’s what exactly happened. It happened the first time so I tried to redo it and left and came back instantly and the fuel just disappeared like that. If it’s relevant my ruining altitude was FL350 and I was going around 540-570 knots.
