What’s the best approach for managing fuel consumption during long-haul flights in Infinite Flight? Please share strategies for Boeing 777 operations. Any tips on flight planning, cruise altitude selection, or in-flight techniques would be appreciated.
The biggest thing to improve fuel efficiency is to step climb.
I am flying FACT-EGLL, an 11-hour, 20-minute flight with a 70% load upon liftoff from FACT. I used Flap 15 and did a mellow climb to FL340. In 4 or 5 hours, I’ll climb to FL360. Then, in 2 or 3 hours, I’ll climb to my final altitude of FL380. This will increase your fuel efficiency, allowing you to fly farther as your load factor becomes lower.
777s in Infinite Flight cruise lower than you think. M0.84 for all of them but you likely won’t need to exceed FL340 on any regularly loaded flight except for maybe at the very end.
To manage fuel consumption effectively during long-haul flights in Infinite Flight with a Boeing 777, start by optimizing your flight plan to include efficient routes and avoid unnecessary deviations. Choose a cruise altitude that balances fuel efficiency and wind conditions—typically, higher altitudes offer better fuel economy. During the flight, monitor your fuel levels and adjust your speed and altitude as needed to maintain efficiency. Regularly review and adjust your planned flight profile based on real-time data for optimal performance.
GPT responses add nothing to the conversation. If you’re going to get ideas from AI at least put your own input in along with it. There is nothing specific in there that would help OP with their specific problem. I could replace “Boeing 777” in your response with literally any plane and it would be applicable.
Hello!
I highly recommend using flightsmart (link below), to get the info, select your aircraft(you’ll need to put in the manufacturer and type) and put in your aircraft load at your departure airport and you should get cruise altitudes with stepclimbs, when to do the stepclimb and other info that will help you.

Yes FlightSmart! Another tip—if you’re on an Apple device, you can add the website to your home screen. The option is under the website share menu. Saves time when you’re trying to figure out your cruise altitude and takeoff speeds while taxiing because you forgot to while parked (me literally every flight lol). This works for any website btw.
Thanks for sharing this!
I’d also recommend checking my logbook!
