I don’t know if I’m under the right category for this but I just need to get an answer from this.
I’m currently in the middle of a flight from VHHH (Hong Kong) to KLAX (Los Angeles), the average flight time for this flight is around 12-13 hours, usually on flights I like to put an extra 2-3 of fuel prior from departure to make sure I have enough.
This time I put 3 hours worth of fuel in my tank to make sure that I had enough, and I thought I’ll be set, turns out after my climb the game says that I happened to burn over 3-4 hours worth of fuel during my departure. Now it’s looking like I will have to divert to Anchorage for a fuel stop but that was never in the plan.
My question is exactly, how much fuel is burned during the average departure/climb and how much fuel should I put to make sure this doesn’t happen. Also is it true that winds play a factor in this as well. Thanks guys.
Any updates? Based on your current position on the Infinite Flight Radar, it’s possible you made this post while climbing, where the “Remaining Fuel” meter wildly fluctuates.
Yeah, were good now. The reason why I made it is because it was actually still showing it wasn’t enough while cruising. I understand that climbing plays a part but usually by cruise, it should be settled. I managed to descent to a better altitude and now it seems like I’ll make the trip. Thanks for checking man, I appericate it.
