Frontier began operating the Airbus A321neo in August 2022. The airline received its first A321neo in July 2022, and it entered commercial service the following month. Frontier’s A321neo fleet is part of the airline’s strategy to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Why Bori?
In that year, Frontier conducted a Tropical Tails contest, which featured endangered species from six different tropical destinations, one of which would be deemed the winner and featured on a future aircraft.
‘Bori’ was the resulting winner and is short for Boricua, which is derived from “Borikén” (the Taino Indian name for the island) and used to describe a person from Puerto Rico by birth or descent.
Safety Card
‘Bori’ is also the face of the Frontier’sA321neo safety card, which makes it stand out from the other tails!
Finally but not least important, Frontier announced the opening of a crew base in San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) in May 2022, with base operations officially beginning in June 2024.
The San Juan base allowed Frontier to position more aircraft and crew members in Puerto Rico, enhancing the airline’s ability to serve both domestic and international routes from the island, most of them operated by A321neo aircraft!
As a Puerto Rican, I fully support this livery being added! Unfortunately, I am out of votes, but I will make this one go straight to the top of my list for things to vote for once I have one free.
hmm I’ve been differing stuff. I did read the thread on livery requests and it did say special liveries like events or raising awareness can’t be done and ion think this one is either of them so we’ll see. It’s in the thread just in case.
