Today we’re flying from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, to Beijing. This flight will take us over the Steppes and mountains of Mongolia and Northern China, treating us to some of East Asia’s best scenery. Let’s fly!
Boarding our flight at the new Chinggis Khan International Airport. Today we’re booked in economy, with a great wing view. The seats are comfortable enough for this 2-hour hop, with decent legroom and padding but not much to write home about.
Lifting off from Ulaanbaatar
Shallow climb out, we had a bit of a tight turn to make
Climbing to FL360 over the beautiful steppes.
Once we reached our cruising altitude, we were given a hot meal service of noodles with stir-fried vegetables and braised beef, which of course came with a bun and butter and some fruit.
Starting our descent into ZBAA. Fortunately, I was able to use the loo before the seatbelt sign came on.
On short final
Disembarking after a very pleasant and scenic flight. Time to claim our luggage and catch the train to the city!
