Loading up our passengers and bags at the gate in Cali, with the beautiful Farallones de Cali rising in the background.

Lifting off of Runway 02, setting course due North.

Climbing out over the patchwork of coffee and sugarcane fields of the Cauca Valley.

Cruising up at 32,000 over Río Quito, about halfway between Cali and Medellín

Banking over ‎⁨Quibdó⁩, t⁨he capital city of Chocó Department. In the far background, you can see the Parque Nacional Natural Utría and Pacific coast

Flying nearby the infamous Darien Gap, just off the coast of Puerto Piña, Panama :panama: (@Jger summon)

Right down there is Panama City and Tocumen International.

There’s the tropical paradise of San Andrés Island, our destination for today :colombia: :palm_tree:

One intense crosswind landing later, we’re back on the ground in Colombia :colombia:!

Parked up at the small terminal, just a stone’s throw away from the stunningly blue water and gorgeous sand of Playita de las Parceras :beach_with_umbrella:

Colombia is a massively varied country when it comes to scenery and airports, from the challenging mountain airport of Bogota, to amazing island airports of San Andrés and Providencia. It’s well worth checking out in Infinite Flight!

@Mort what would you do if Sun Country announced Cali flights :eyes:

I can see that happening since tourism is pretty big, if not than Medellin or Cartagena for sure

Very brave cameraman.

I would 110% go. I definitely see a costal city like Cartagena or maybe Barranquilla (not sure how big the tourism industry is there) getting their service. It’s not that much of a stretch, since Barranquilla is actually like 100 miles closer to Minneapolis than Aruba, which they fly to. I think Cali would be too far for their 737-800s - not sure if the 739s could do it either.

And he still manages to post the shot

Yeah, it’s around 3 hours and a half hours between MSP and MIA and an extra 3 hours and 15 minutes between MIA and CLO. But I did put this route in sim brief and it didn’t say anything about this route exceeding its range

This is why this needs to exist :backhand_index_pointing_down:

That would be really epic. They do seem to want to go to South America, and Colombia seems like the most obvious place to start (no offense Venezuela, but I feel like most people don’t want to vacation there).

That livery is actually amazing on the MAX.

I should have come down and visited.

They do have nice places like Maracaibo and Porlamar but Venezuela’s travel advisory is a level 4 and American (the last US airline serving Venezuela) pulled out in March 2019 and it’s unlikely they’ll (or anybody) return especially with the travel ban Trump proposed.

I’m sure there’s amazing places to visit and a rich culture, but I agree that the political situation is just too unstable right now.
