Great I’m sure to make at least lga to atl 😜🔥
Second best FNF yet
Note to all controllers at DCA:
Please remember that the DCA river visual is an FAA standard and must be followed at all times, straight out departures are not allowed, and Runway 04/22 are closed runways.
This procedure is for:
Avoiding the Washington Monument (which straight out departures would crash into)
Avoiding restricted airspace north of DCA
Noise abatement
Chart:
The airport being too busy is not a proper reason for straight out departures. An aircraft takes off or lands at least every 2 minutes at KDCA (which is what I think we will see).
This is very important especially if you are at APPR.
I invite you to read this topic, if the approach controller has a unrealistic amount of traffic we won’t be using realistic airport operating procedures. We aren’t forced to follow real life procedures at all actually.
The app/dep depends on winds, if runway 1 is used for departures, aircraft should/will follow the river up until the waypoint FERGI/ALEEX. If runway 19 is used for arrivals, aircraft will and should follow the river all the way down to runway 15 and make a sharp turn onto runway 19. Runway 19 departures will follow the river about half-way through the glide slope and will turn right if heading west, or will continue to head down the glide slope if heading east/north.
If runway 33 is used, aircraft can depart from it, as long they are an E175 or E170. The CRJs and A319 are too big and takeoff at too high of speeds for a runway 33 departure. Runway 33 is also used for landings, of the E170/175 and CRJ-200 all other aircraft are too big for the runway. The runway 33 approach starts with what looks like a runway 1 approach, but after reaching 3/4 down the glide slope, the aircraft makes a right turn at a 90 degree angle to the left of runway 33 and makes a sharp turn onto final. KADW and the surrounding airspace must remain clear of aircraft lower than 10,000 feet, meaning aircraft may not have a long final onto runway 33.
If runway 15 is used, no aircraft may land on it because of downtown Arlington on short final of the runway. Aircraft may only takeoff on runway 19 and must follow the same procedures as runway 33, just in reverse. KADW airspace must remain clear of all aircraft lower than 10,000 feet.
Not saying you have to @Neeson52 just if you could do a bit of realism that would be good, but if it gets to that point thats fine
I don’t care if IFATC uses the runway being used IRL or not, these are the procedures and should/must be followed closely. If I get ghosted by following these procedures instead of doing something ILLEGAL (as in the highest penalty being life in prison if done on purpose) in real world aviation, then I will not stand for it.
One 748 from seoul on its way
We’ll try to use these procedures but we aren’t obligated to. If you don’t comply with ATC instructions, you will be ghosted. It’s simple.
I will comply with the law. Even if this is only a simulator.
Man, calm down. DCA will most likly not have approch, as most controllers will be focused on the 7 freqencies; 2 App., 2 Tower, 2 ground, 1 long Atis; so you should be good If you choose to fly there.
@baseball_inferno The simulator has a set of “Laws” too…
The IFATC are here for the fun of controlling, and making everyone’s experience better in the sim, not to follow every nook and cranny rule that every airport has. That’s why they have a set of “laws” too, and if you fail to follow them, you will be ghosted. Such conduct that you are displaying to the “laws” of the IFATC is unacceptable, because many of these people volunteer valuable time to control in the simulator. They do this so that people on IF live have the best experience. If you cannot respect that, face the consequences.
Tomorrow, I’m going to happily follow atc instructions and try out the new KATL-CYYC route on WestJet! I’m very happy that I finally get a chance to. Thanks @MishaCamp!
Then why don’t you go be a controller and control it then. You can always do the training pass the practicality test etc so. I would if i had the time and love to control CLT RDU JFK and ATL but I know that half the times with the thunderstorms and time in college I can’t at the moment though I will be trying to Attempt soon so. If you feel So strongly about it do something about it.
I have plans controlling it. I doubt it should be busy. And I also doubt APP will be active
Well KALT I’m excited lots of great flying opportunities around there. Besides traffic will be low as that airport is massive! I’m happy as spring break starts tonight.
