Friday Night Flight - San Francisco Region Restriction Flight @ KSFO - 081830ZAPR16

Hey everyone!

Join us for this week’s FNF Event:
SAN FRANCISCO RESTRICTION FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHT!

This week’s event will be PROPS ONLY! Hop in your favorite prop aircraft and take a scenic flight around the San Francisco Region.

As a pilot, we are required to be aware and up to date on airspace classifications, procedures, NOTAMS, and restrictions. In this week’s event, there is a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) over Palo Alto Airport from SFC - 3000 ft, so all flights must avoid flying through or even breaching the TFR while flying to and from SJC (see attached image for details of TFR). Procedures are in place to provide an organized experience for everyone.

AIRCRAFT: PROPS ONLY
(GA aircraft preferred but Dash 8 allowed). NO JETS!!

FNF EVENT HOURS:
BEGIN - Friday 4/8 @ 18:30 ZULU (10:30am PST)
END - Saturday 4/9 @ 10:30 ZULU (2:30am PST)

PLEASE NOTE:
ALL VIOLATIONS, RULES, & EVENT PROCEDURES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED!
GHOSTING WILL BE ENFORCED AS WELL FOR NOT FOLLOWING EVENT PROCEDURES, EVENT RESTRICTIONS, SPAWNING WITH JETS.

Follow the procedures, follow all ATC instructions when available, be respectful of everyone who is flying, and most importantly, HAVE FUN

See everyone in San Francisco! Feel free to share your screenshots!

So, for the TFR, do we avoid it at all cost, or avoid it if below 3,000 ft?

The TFR is SFC - 3000 ft.

So, do we avoid it at all costs?

The concept is to avoid it altogether. But legally, you can fly over it above 3000 ft.

Ok, will do! Thanks for the information!

False. It’s SFC-3000 feet. :)

Well, in the description of the TFR, it states,

Testing is in progress in this area. Palo Alto Airport is closed.

It doesn’t mention anything about obstructing GA traffic. It’s simply done for testing purposes.

@Henrik_B… Max Sez: Noted. Misunderstood, my erroronious post deleted. I’ll fly over it at + 030AGL Friday night. If I get violated I’ll ref this exchange.
