Friday Night Flight - Post-Hurricane Fly-In @ KMIA - 071730ZOCT16

Hey community members!

Join us for this week’s Friday Night Flight:
Post-Hurricane Fly-In

We head to the SoFlo Region (South Florida) and test our skills in some slightly windy conditions. Can you takeoff safely and land safely without autoland? Let’s all join together and show Joshua Smithley how it’s done as he still needs to learn. Maybe do some high flying in SOFIA to try and gather data from Hurricane Matthew (may be Tropical Storm or lower by the time of the event).

There are no established routes for this event. Come to SoFlo in any aircraft and join us for some fun. Team up with other pilots for formation flights, ramp screenshots, or to just enjoy flying for the love of flying on Infinite Flight. Looking forward to some awesome screenshots!

Post your best screenshots for a chance to have it shared on our Official Infinite Flight Instagram page at http://instagram.com/infiniteflight

I’m pretty sure it’s going to stay a Hurricane even as it makes landfall.

Is it a new rule that I have to have a flight plan before I request for pushback? I been asking for pushback but the tower won’t let me. I don’t have a flight plan all the time I fly. I just fly VFR most or just fly around.

its a new atc feature so yes you must have one so make an FPL before starting’

although it should be before taxing

No rule in place for that at all. PM me.

It’s not a requirement to file an FPL.

-Ground/Broadcast Message: “Attention all aircraft, please file a flight plan before requesting taxi”

fresh off the press of new commands listed in the announcement from tyler shelton that he gave all of us so im not sure

its not a requirement yeah but ground freq could send them the message

It is a broadcast message to prevent people from filing FPL at hold short line or while taxi’ing. It’s not a requirement. If someone wants to pushback, then let them pushback.

What Mark is saying… if you file a flight plan. Do it BEFORE you taxi or pushback. DONT plan it while your on hold, ready to take off or while your taxiing.

It’s to make traffic run smoother on the ground. Thanks Mark I get it! FNF IS GOING TO BE NUTS. See you in the skies!

I have just addressed all controllers about it. For now it should only be used and expected that pilots file during an FNF or peak times. Thanks!
