Welcome to this week’s FNF! Last week, both Qantas and KLM officially retired their B747 fleet. Whilst this is sad, it is also a time to celebrate the amazing history of the aircraft. The aircraft has been a workhorse in both of the airlines for a number of years, so a proper celebration is in order!
As noted in the title, both Amsterdam and Sydney will be open as two hubs. This gives you the freedom to pick and choose as you wish. The airports that were the departure point for both the final flights will also be open, so if you wish to replicate the final flights you can do so. A selection of other airports flown to in recent times by the aircraft will be open across the world. No domestic airports are open in either country.
Please note a TFR will be in place at all times at EHAM and YSSY. Within this TFR, IFATC will not issue repeated warnings for pilots due to traffic volume. We ask that you pay extra attention in these areas and we further ask that you understand the need to be patient towards IFATC
