I see we’ve derailed quickly so let’s get something straight:
From the Guide to the Community topic
Freedom of speech, as defined under the first amendment of the United States of America, protects people from government censorship. The Infinite Flight forum is a forum operated by a private company, and you sign up to it by agreeing to the terms of service. This permits Staff to have the ability to set the parameters of what is and isn’t considered acceptable in a discussion, on profiles, and in other spaces on the IFC.
I like to think that many of us on here are free to express our opinions on various things (related to Infinite Flight itself). Many have shown dissatisfaction with updates in the past (for whatever reason), and unless they’re blatantly rude and don’t follow the guidelines set out for the community, they typically don’t get removed. In fact, the staff/devs will often reply to criticism, questions, etc.
@FoJosiah as for your said topic, just because it was denied for whatever reason it was, I wouldn’t be jumping to some conclusion that there’s a lack of free speech. As some have suggested, if you ever have a concern with one of your topics, reach out to the mod team. We’re happy to clarify any decisions we make. :)
Tl;DR: Freedom of speech does not apply to the IFC as Infinite Flight LLC is a private company, which by signing up, you’ve agreed to the ToS.
We’re not here to take down every bit of criticism you throw our way, but we will take down post/topics accordingly that do not follow the rules and serve little to no benefit to a proper discussion to be had.
Mod inbox is always open. Have a great rest of your Sunday, everyone!
